- BAFTA zverejnila tzv. longlist nominácií na BAFTA Game Awards

Po kontroverznom zaradení expanzie Shadow of the Erdtree do zoznamu nominácií o najlepšiu hru roka na The Game Awards povedala BAFTA jasné „NIE“ tomuto trendu.
Prestížna British Academy of Film and Television Arts potvrdila, že herné expanzie nemôžu byť nominované na ocenenie najlepšia hra roka na BAFTA Game Awards. Expanzia však môže byť zaradená v kategórii „Evolving Game.“
BAFTA tiež vydala tzv. longlist 58 hier, ktoré sa môžu uchádzať o ocenenie najlepšej hry. Z tohto listu sa následne vytvorí zoznam nominácií. Hry, ktoré mohli byť nominované museli doraziť k hráčom od 25. novembra 2023 do 15. novembra 2024 a preto tam napríklad chýba Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Finálne nominácie budú zverejnené 4. marca 2025 pričom odovzdávanie ocenení je naplánované na 8. apríla 2025.
Zverejnený bol aj longlist hier, ktoré budú môcť zabojovať o to najvyššie ocenenie.
